Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas to Hold Responsible Rights: Government in the Sunshine Seminar in Lubbock

The Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas will host a Responsible Rights seminar Thursday, June 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., in Lubbock, at the International Cultural Center auditorium.

Responsible Rights: Government in the Sunshine will include in-depth discussions of the Texas Public Information Act and the Texas Open Meetings Act.

Responsible Rights seminars are important educational tools for local governments who must comply with the open meetings and public information requirements as well as for news organizations and citizens seeking access to pubic information.

Presenters will include Houston-based attorney Joseph Larsen of Ogden, Gibson, White & Broocks, L. L. P.; Don Richards of the Lubbock law firm McWhorter, Cobb & Johnson; and Hadassah Schloss, Open Records Administrator for the Texas Building and Procurement Commission in Austin.

Early registration for the seminar is $15 per person, or $25 at the door. No meals will be arranged or provided as a part of the seminar, but a two-hour lunch break will be included in the schedule.
