Morning Session (Free): The three-hour morning session is free and open to the public. It meets the criteria for the state law that requires all elected and appointed officials who are required by state law to take a class on the Public Information Act and Open Meetings Act. You’ll get a certificate that verifies you met this requirement. Includes video presentations on the Texas Public Information Act and Open Meetings Act, plus time for questions to attorneys.
Afternoon Session only or both ($50): The afternoon session costs only $50 and provides a more in-depth look at Texas’ open government laws. Includes examples of the most important rulings from the Attorney General and recent court cases. Includes a presentation on the fees that can be charged for filling an open records request. One or more of Texas’ leading attorneys on these laws will be on hand to answer your questions. Price for afternoon session includes: handbooks, handouts and other materials.
