Travis County DA’s Office Now Investigating Texas Cancer Fighting Agency

A prosecutor for the Travis County DA’s office has now confirmed they have launched a criminal investigation into a controversial $11MM grant awarded to a Dallas firm. Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott’s office is also reportedly investigating. This following the resignation of the embattled agency’s executive director. The Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas' 2012 Open Government Seminars have been to Amarillo, Nacogdoches, Austin, Fort Worth and El Paso.

This year, the Foundation certified 331 people in compliance with Texas' open records laws. These people include state, county and local employees, journalists, lawyers and citizens committed to protecting open government in Texas.
